Deep Tissue Massage is one of the best and most effective ways to treat pain and injury. It uses firm-pressure and friction (using hands, fingertips, knuckles, forearms and even elbows) designed to release tight layers of muscle and tissue, normally a result of bad posture, injury or overuse. Deep breathing is often used to help you relax during the massage, especially when trigger pointing is necessary. Soft tissue release and stretching techniques may also be applied during the treatment. All the above techniques relax stiff muscles, restore pain free movement, reduce muscle tension and relieves stress.
This type of massage is particularly effective in treating stiff necks, shoulder muscles, upper and lower back stiffness or pain, upper and lower leg problems. As this deeper style of massage is very intense, it may cause some soreness during, or in the days following the massage. This is normal, and is simply the muscles releasing stored tension and toxins and will fade within a few days.
